Almost two weeks

Its hard to believe but Monday Gabe will be 2 weeks old. He's been growing and gaining weight very well. I'm interested to see what he weighs when we go back to the doctor next week. I am so thankful to all our friends and family who have been so kind to come by and check on us and especially to the ones who have brought food! We are so blessed!

Big brother is still getting the hang of having a little one in the house. But he has been such a big help! He likes to give Gabe his bottles and even has helped me with the dishes recently. I know it won't last long, I'm just trying to enjoy each moment.

Welcome Gabe!

Baby Gabe arrived Monday (3-2-09) weighing in at 7lb 8oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. He's absolutely perfect and we feel so blessed!

As you might imagine, big brother is truly excited. He calls us daily and asks how his brother is doing. Gabe has lost down to 6lb 14oz as of last night (3-3-09) we have begun supplimenting his diet in hopes of stopping the weight loss. We are still hoping to go home tomorrow some time.

Thanks to everyone for the calls, support and prayers. We are blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful and loving friends and family!

What a fun Weekend! :)

We had a wonderful weekend in the cabins at Desoto State Park and then on Saturday we went to the Tennessee Aquarium. Needless to say Gentry had a completely wonderful time! **DISCLAIMER - Some of these pictures are not the best quality. I had a hard time figuring out the right setting for a extremely excited 3 year old in a very dark enviroment. Any suggestions are greatly appriciated!**

The picture above is Gentry "petting" one of the pinguins through the glass. The pinguins loved all the attention and would stay right at the glass from time to time as if trying to please the children. It was adorable!

The next picture is one of my favorites. In this particular shot you can't see any of the large turtles or sharks but there were many in this tank. Gentry had a longer attention span at this tank than most adults that I saw. He loved watching the fish swim back and forth and waiting for the sharks to come back by from time to time.

Picture on the left are some large jelly fish that I became enthralled with watching. They were so hypnotic! I'm glad the picture turned out like it did.

No, Gentry is not petting a fish. . . this was a photographic mural (not sure that is the right word) that I asked him to pose for me in the lobby. He was such a good sport.

Look closely at what this little gator is sitting on, when we first looked it took us a minute to see the full picture. Isn't it sweet?

We all had a wonderful time. I did get a little worn out from all the walking but there were ample places to rest and watch my men enjoying all the amazing sites. I would suggest this little day trip to anyone! More pictures from the rest of our weekend later. . . .

Thanksgiving Day Pictures

I'm trying to get the hang of taking my own pictures of Gentry. I'm starting to like what I'm doing so I think that means something. . . :)

We went to a few places on thanksgiving day before the festivities started to get some pictures. We had a great time with family and over all a wonderful long weekend!!!

Pumpkin Fun

I know that it doesn' t happen much anymore but we went and had a very "big" day today and lo-and-behold here I am posting the pictures on the SAME DAY!!! Wow, just don't get use to it :)
We went to Tate Farms today. We spent a little more than we meant to (okay so maybe it was a little more than a boat load) but it was worth it. Not to mention G had TONS of fun and even napped on the way over. . . SCORE on both accounts!

This was a cute little "Pumpkin House" they had. . . all the big kids were posing in the window, so that's where he thought he had to pose. . . I didn't have the heart to tell him he was too small to see.

If there were 2000 screaming kids running around and petting me all day and I was pinned in, I'm not sure I could take a nap but miraculously this calf was as calm as you please. He was so cute, and G loved petting him.

So what do you do in a trailer filled with cotton? You throw it at mommy and her camera of course!

He was completely excited that we spent WAY too much on a hot dog, not to mention the pumpkins (which for the record weren't too badly priced). We let him choose the designs that would go on each pumpkin then daddy did a great job (with his dremel) of carving the pumpkins.
Last year we did a similar thing around the same time (see here). . . I see a tradition beginning.

Still Ice Cream Weather!

So rumor is that out west and "up" north the weather is cooling off and the nights are nice and crisp. Well, here in the deep south we are still dealing with upper 80's to mid 90 days. And Gentry decided to enjoy an icecream cone today, curtesy of his aunt.

When he saw the camera he immediately posed. He's not actually eating here, he just stuck his tongue out in the perfect ice cream pose.

"I luve my icecweam cone"

THIS is how he actually eats icecream.

too cute, don't you think?
