Thanksgiving Day Pictures

I'm trying to get the hang of taking my own pictures of Gentry. I'm starting to like what I'm doing so I think that means something. . . :)

We went to a few places on thanksgiving day before the festivities started to get some pictures. We had a great time with family and over all a wonderful long weekend!!!

Pumpkin Fun

I know that it doesn' t happen much anymore but we went and had a very "big" day today and lo-and-behold here I am posting the pictures on the SAME DAY!!! Wow, just don't get use to it :)

We went to Tate Farms today. We spent a little more than we meant to (okay so maybe it was a little more than a boat load) but it was worth it. Not to mention G had TONS of fun and even napped on the way over. . . SCORE on both accounts!

This was a cute little "Pumpkin House" they had. . . all the big kids were posing in the window, so that's where he thought he had to pose. . . I didn't have the heart to tell him he was too small to see.

If there were 2000 screaming kids running around and petting me all day and I was pinned in, I'm not sure I could take a nap but miraculously this calf was as calm as you please. He was so cute, and G loved petting him.

So what do you do in a trailer filled with cotton? You throw it at mommy and her camera of course!

He was completely excited that we spent WAY too much on a hot dog, not to mention the pumpkins (which for the record weren't too badly priced). We let him choose the designs that would go on each pumpkin then daddy did a great job (with his dremel) of carving the pumpkins.

Last year we did a similar thing around the same time (see here). . . I see a tradition beginning.

My little Camera Hog!

Who's the absolute cutest little camera hog in the world??? Okay, so maybe I'm a little baised but, goodness only knows how cute our next little one is going to be with a big brother this adorable!

Still Ice Cream Weather!

So rumor is that out west and "up" north the weather is cooling off and the nights are nice and crisp. Well, here in the deep south we are still dealing with upper 80's to mid 90 days. And Gentry decided to enjoy an icecream cone today, curtesy of his aunt.

When he saw the camera he immediately posed. He's not actually eating here, he just stuck his tongue out in the perfect ice cream pose.

G is 3

Yep, my little man is now 3. Sorry the pictures are late. . . We got together at my aunt's house with all of G's cousins on my mom's side. . . and there's alot of them. And my Dad's brother and family were even able to come too. Gentry had a great time! Thanks to everyone!

yep, we're having another baby! Gentry is pretty excited, but he's really more excited about going to "big school" this thursday (3k program locally).

a plethera of info

sorry for the lapse in pictures, this will be a wild and random post. . . so try to keep up. :)

First. . . Gentry has finally begun doing real "business" in the toilet. . . so, as promised, we trapsed to Wally to pick out a bicycle. FOURTEEN girly bicycles in his size and only ONE boy bicycle. Luckily it was a Spiderman bicycle, so he was completely happy. . . . okay, nobody throw stones, just yet. . . I'm aware that he doesn't have a helmet on. . . I'll explain that one at a later date. . .

We've had a hectic couple of weeks, but last night was nice. We went to my aunt & uncles for dinner and "owl watched". I'm sure more experienced people might call it something else, but I don't even like bird so you must understand what a feat this was for me to sit out side and WAIT for LARGE birds of prey to appear. . . . but while we were waiting. . . .

please pardon the blurriness of the pictures. . . catching father & son swinging was more difficult than catching my lightning picture.

Finally, right before we had to go the owls appeared.

Storms

So. . . I think my inner photographer is now budding. I took this picture tonight during the storms ( I was safely placed on my porch, no fear of being hit. .. . I think :) )



Yes, It's lightning. I'm not going to tell you how many pictures I had to take to get the "Perfect one" or how long I stood outside in the storm. But, the important part is, that I GOT IT! I'm so proud.

My Growing Boy

So, I got this wonderful camera for my birthday last year, and I've taken a few snap shots of Gentry and of my stampin' stuff. . . but I got the idea yesterday that its time for me to really learn how to use it for family pictures. Here are a couple of shots of Gentry that I took yesterday.

Craft Time

Saturday we attended a local festival and at the Home Depot booth Gentry got to make a birdhouse (with a little help from mommy). then last night we decided to paint the birdhouse so we could put it up in the yard.

As you can see he's extremely proud of his birdhouse that HE made!

He was getting a little frustrated that I kept taking pictures. but, it's my job! :)

not that concentration requires the tongue being stuck out. I guess that runs in the family. He was extremely excited about getting the house up so that a bird could sleep in in. I'll try to post pictures when we finally get the birdhouse up in the yard.

A while back we took Gentry to the Tennis Courts for the first time. He had fun for a little while. He's quite the little independant perfectionist. He wants to do it HIS way, but gets quite upset when the ball doesn't react like he expected.


He's explaining to his daddy the "correct" way to play.




He got frustrated rather quickly and decided he'd rather sit and watch.

Happy Easter!

Just wanted to share a few pictures from today's Easter festivities.


Gentry was so excited to get to spend some time with Papaw. I think Papaw had fun also.

I know this picture is completely cheesy, but for some reason I really wanted this picture this year. I think it turned out okay.

Then it was off to hunt Easter eggs with our new spider man basket that the Easter bunny brought. Gentry was quite excited to be hunting eggs.

My cousin brought her new puppy over today to enjoy the festivities. Panda really wanted to help Gentry look for eggs. Everyone enjoyed playing with this adorable bundle of puppy.

New Video

Gentry got a recorder (flute) for Christmas and has kept it with him all around the house ALL THE TIME recently. I took a little video of him earlier in the week. Enjoy!

A boy and a flashlight

When it's cold and rainy outside what can you do inside? Well, if you have blankets that have been de-germ-i-fied (from a previous stomach virus), your dad's flashlight and an active imagination you can do this!

You have to keep watch for monsters when you are a 2 year old little boy.

and of course, explain all of this to the adults, who don't quite know how to function in a tent correctly.

and if you are lucky enough to have a cat who enjoys playing with a flashlight you can also spend some time doing this. . . .
